Jaipur Convention 2013

 

e-seeed is engaged in creating social Architectural awareness along with allied environmental activities. It will also help to create awareness among its members about the latest technology, products available in the market and know-how to attain modernization in the field of Architecture. The trust also helps other social organizations to support any cause related to any social welfare, well being or any activity regarding the present environmental conditions, help to victims of natural calamities, etc. e-seeed’s Uttarakhand activity is going on. We also had a Art Exhibition at Pune.

The theme of Jaipur Convention was ‘Art and Craft’ with our Guests of Honor- Mr. Rajeev Sethi, Ms. Brigette Singh, Mr. Mitchell Abdul Karim Crites and Ms. Paola Brescia.

Mr. Rajeev Sethi, inaugurated the programme and has a conversation on ‘How to engage?’ with all the members. Not only eseeedians but also all over colleges form other colleges students of india.

22nd Annual Convention of E-seeed was conducted in Jaipur where in as many as 181 members actively participated.

General Body Meeting was conducted on the last day of Convention.

Rajeev Sethi :

Rajeev Sethi is South Asia’s leading designer and is noted internationally for his innovative contribution to preserving and celebrating the subcontinent’s rich cultural heritage. For more than 35 years, through his work in design and architecture, performances and festivals, exhibitions and publication, policy and program, he has identified ways to bring contemporary relevance to traditional skills of vulnerable artisan communities and creative professionals. With innovative positioning and proactive interventions he has created a basis for the maintenance of time honored legacy industries in an era of industrial mass production and globalization.

 

Brigitte Singh :

In 1980, Brigitte Singh arrived in Jaipur from Paris on a scholarship to learn the fine art of miniature painting, she could scarcely have guessed that jaipur would become her home ,or that she would ,from then on ,dedicate herself to high end textile design. Little did she know that she would be instrumental in the revival of the finest traditions of block printing and bring back the quality last seen during the mughal era. Bridgette singh ; today represents one of the finest proponents of this craft in the world .

 

Mitchell Abdul Karim Crites:

SARAY founder, Mitchell Abdul Karim Crites, an American art historian, is a respected scholar and author whose research and travels throughout india and the Arab world have made him a leading force for the renaissance of traditional Islamic and Indian craftsmanship at the highest levels. Over the years, his architectural projects have given work to more than seven thousand master artists, carvers, inlay artisans and calligraphers.

 

Paolo Brescia:

After working with Ar. Renzo Piano, Paolo Brescia established OBR-Open Building Research in 2000 with the idea of creating a design network researching new ways of living , working within the confluence of architecture and landscape. He develops the experimental line through the participation in international projects involved in public and social programmes in newly advanced urban development countries as china, India and Brazil.
